Now these are in no particular order. Many music videos were scrutinized over on a scale of 1 to awesome. Here's the videos that made it:

TÝR - "Hold The Heathen Hammer High" from By The Light of The Northern Star
I didn't take TÝR seriously until this album. It's Pagan/Viking metal in it's purest, unadulterated  form.This video just screams awesome. There's nothing more metal than sailing on a long ship, running through the forest, chopping down a cross, lighting said cross on fire, spitting on said cross and then continuing to hit the cross with your swords/axes.





Municipal Waste - "Wrong Answer" from Massive Aggressive
Fun loving Municipal Waste gave us a lighthearted gem sure to be treasured by families everywhere.



Steel Panther - "Death to All But Metal" from Feel the Steel
Love it or hate it, these guys RULE. Catchy melodies, catchy lyrics. Long live hair!


BEHEMOTH - "Ov Fire and the Void" from Evangelion
Just plain evil.


Ex Deo - "Romulus" from Romulus
This is hands down the most epic music video of all time. By all time I mean since the dawn of history. This works as a fine primer on Roman history. Every middle school history teacher should showcase this in class.


CHILDREN - "POWER SPIRIT" from Hard Times Hangin' at the End of the World
Children's Hard Times Hangin' at the End of the World is one of 2009's hidden gems. This video "Power Spirit" channels Evil Dead and Blair Witch Project.



Amon Amarth - "Guardians of Asgard" from Twilight of the Thundergod
I would've liked to put "Twilight of the Thundergod" on this list, but that came out in the end of 2008. This is nearly as epic. Sword fighting in the snow? Bring it.



Mastodon - "Divinations" from Crack the Skye
Mountaineering, ancient ritual sacrifice, cavemen, yetis and yes, lightning guitar solos.


The Metal Shakespeare Company - "To Bleed or Not to Bleed"
What's metal about Shakespeare? These theater geeks.


Rammstein - "Pussy" from Liebe ist fur alle da
Rammstein made a porno and called it a music video. Song is actually really catchy. Since it is NSFW click here to check it out.

DEVIN TOWNSEND PROJECT - "Bend It Like Bender " from Addicted
